In my last post, I began walking down Calzada San Juan de Aragón photographing the street art along the way. Here are more mural paintings along the avenue...
The avenue is one of the routes taken by pilgrims on their way to the Basilica of Guadalupe, and there is a hostel where pilgrims can stay.
"Welcome pilgrims"
One portion of the murals on the wall of the hostel shows Pope John Paul II and the Basilica of Guadalupe.
The Virgin of Guadalupe
Other portions of the mural are of pre-Hispanic themes.
Just beyond the hostel is a local headquarters of the "Guardia Nacional" (National Guard). Its outer wall was painted with images of doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other first responders.
More miscellaneous art along the way...
A design decorating the wall of a women's hospital
This bizarre and rather disturbing mural shows a rabbit holding a human heart. He appears to be playing it as if he were playing a bagpipe.
Where the Metro line is elevated above the street, the concrete supports are painted with images.
A few more examples of street art before reaching Alejandro's house.
