Where Will My Art Show Up?

Alejandro did a Google search on me, and what should turn up but a couple packets of my Christmas cards on eBay.  The picture on the cards is from a painting I did called "Winter in Segovia, Spain".

Years ago, I was a member of a local fine arts club in Ohio, and I would sell my art work... paintings, Christmas cards, and hand-painted Christmas ornaments... at their art shows.  When I sold my house and liquidated its contents, there were still packets of cards that I had not sold.  I guess that these were purchased by someone at the liquidation, and they ended up on eBay.

I decided to do a Google search myself, and lo an behold, I found more of my artwork for sale.  A couple of my paintings were also on eBay.

Then, I found more of my paintings on Etsy.

This one, a painting of a beach on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques, was sold.  The asking price was $200, although I don't know if the seller got that.

Whoever the Etsy seller is, he or she must have talked to the liquidators about my situation because in the description it says...

"Acquired from the estate of world traveling artist William..., as he has relocated out of the country."

I don't consider those paintings among my best works.  They never sold at the art shows, or even at my garage sale prior to my move. (I was practically giving them away.) Of course the Etsy seller makes them out to be more than the work of an amateur artist.

"His compositions are always so captivating."

LOL!

  1. Guess we aren’t the only admirers of a new and upcoming artist. New career maybe?

  2. No, I'm happy doing just one or two paintings per year.
