Last weekend there was a car show held in the courtyard of the Palace of Mining, an 18th century neoclassical structure which once housed the school of metallurgy. Today, it belongs to the engineering department of the National University of Mexico.
I am not really a car buff, but I was under the impression that it was going to be an antique car show. We went inside when we were downtown on Saturday. The show was devoted exclusively to Italian sports cars.
There were a number of relatively late model, luxury sports cars.
A 2008 Lamborghini
There were also vintage (but not antique) Italian cars.
A 1966 Maserati
The automobiles were interesting to look at. But, as I said, I am not a car buff. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a Ferrari and a Maserati. So we took a walk through the show and left.
