The Fourth King

You have all heard of the Three Magi Kings who brought gold, myrrh and frankincense to Bethlehem.  But there is a fourth king that you probably have never heard of.  On January 6th, the Day of the Kings, King William from the faraway land of Ohio, made an appearance after breakfast at the home of Alejandro.  And the King was bearing several bags of gifts!

Each member of the family received a bag of presents. (The King no longer likes to wrap gifts, and, besides, it could be problematic when passing through customs.)  Here are a few of the presents which Alejandro's family received...

Pedro, Alejandro's father, always complains about the chilly temperatures in January, and can usually be found dressed as if he were making a journey to the far northern climes.  King William, who is currently clearing out his palace, gave Pedro this alpaca cap which he bought decades ago on a trip to Peru.

The King also brought Pedro this cozy sweatshirt from a national park in the realm of Ohio.

Sandra, Alejandro's sister, received, among other things, this t-shirt from the exotic city of Cleveland.

The King also found for her this lovely wrap at the grand emporium of Sears on an earlier foray into Mexico.

The King could not resist bringing Alejandro these pajama pants embellished with images of a golden Labrador that looks very much like a beloved pet that he used to have.

For those nippy winter nights and early mornings in Mexico City, Alejandro received a warm jacket.

There were two bags of gifts for Alejandro's nephew Ezra!

He loves dogs and was very happy to receive this calendar with pictures of cute puppies.

Ezra is a very good English student and could probably do well playing Scrabble in English.  But the King figures that he could also play it in Spanish (even though there are no tiles with the letter "ñ").

Another item that the King found while cleaning out the palace was this Peruvian panpipe.

The family seemed very happy with their gifts and with the King's visit.
