The Jungle Book

Alejandro's nephew, Ezra, is in the third grade, and at his school English has been a part of the curriculum since first grade.  On Thursday morning the third grade English classes put on a presentation in the courtyard of the school.  Alejandro, his sister, his father and I were all in attendance.

The theme of the play was "The Jungle Book", although in reality it had very little semblance to the Rudyard Kipling stories or the Disney movie.  (OK, in one scene the children danced to a recording of the Disney song "I Wanna Be Like You".)  But it was a very cute show, and the students were very enthusiastic.  Ezra had several lines, and his English was clear and understandable.
