Well, I suppose handicraft is the wrong word since these items are created by a high-tech machine. As I was walking through the historic center of Mexico City, I passed a store which was primarily a framing shop. But at the entrance were some items that caught my eye... laser-cut wooden figures.
I went inside and found more. A young lady who works there was programming the laser machine to cut out some wooden butterflies. She said that I could watch the process.
I suppose there is nothing unique about this, but I had never seen anything like it before. I was fascinated, and I ended up buying a couple items. I might just return and buy some more.
