It might be Groundhog Day in the U.S., but in Mexico today is the Feast Day of La Candelaria (known as Candlemas in English). On this day it is traditional to eat tamales. The sound of street vendors hawking their tamales it a common sound in Mexico. However, Alejandro says that this year tamales are hard to find, and the family will not be eating any today.
