Jane is also a retired teacher, and we taught Spanish together for seventeen years in the same high school. She visited Mérida many years ago when we took a group of students on a tour of the Yucatán. She liked Mérida, but we only spent a couple days in the city. It will be fun to give her a more thorough tour of the city and to take her on some excursions outside of the city similar to those I took with Nancy and Fred.

Sounds like you could settle permanently and be a tour guide for visitors and Spanish teacher for expats who are still struggling with conjugation.
