A number of times I have written that high altitude Mexico City does not have the tropical climate that many people think it does. Today is a perfect example. We are in the dry season, and we have enjoyed abundant sunshine. Although the mornings start out very chilly, the sun warms the temperature up to the 70s Fahrenheit. Today, however, it is completely overcast. Without the sun's warming rays, the temperature is not even going to reach 60 degrees. The low this morning was 45 degrees and our high will be 56.
That is better than my former hometown of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, where they have experienced the first measurable snowfall of the season. As I write this the temperature there is 32 (with a wind chill of 21), and two inches of snow have fallen. Of course, unlike Mexico City, homes in Ohio have central heating. Here, we simply add layers of clothing to keep warm.
