During the early hours of Wednesday morning, around 4 A.M., a fireball appeared in the sky above Mexico City, followed by a loud boom.

Both Alejandro and I slept through it, but his sister Sandra was wakened. She said that the windows of the house rattled from the explosion.
The next morning the news reported that a meteorite had exploded upon entering the atmosphere. But a couple of articles that I read said that it was not a meteorite, but rather something called a bolide. Meteorites are rocks detached from the collision of asteroids. Bolides are rocks that have been traveling through interplanetary space since the birth of the solar system.
Well, whatever it was, I missed it.
