The shopping malls here in Mexico City are decorated for Day of the Dead. Metropoli Patriotismo, a short walk from the apartment, has skeletons, some of them in a zombie-like pose, throughout the mall.
At another mall, Reforma 222, there was an "ofrenda" set up honoring famous Mexican artists.
Here are two of Mexico's most famous muralists... David Alfaro Siqueiros (left) and José Clemente Orozco.
Less well-known is the surrealist artist Leonora Carrington. Although born in England, she spent most of her life in Mexico and became a naturalized Mexican citizen.
The best known of them all are muralist Diego Rivera and his wife, painter Frida Kahlo.
