Concert Tickets

I was looking at the website of Mexico City's Palace of Fine Arts to see if there were any art exhibits that would be of interest to me.  There weren't any, but under the musical performances for the month of February, I noticed a concert by the National Symphonic Orchestra that sounded good.  It is the inaugural concert for the 2026 season, and the program includes works by Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Enescu, and Ravel... all of them works with which I am familiar.  The only composer that I did not know was the Mexican Manuel Enríquez.  The concert includes his "Rapsodía Latinoamericana".  I found a recording of it on YouTube, and it is a pleasant work drawing on familiar songs from various Latin American countries.

I asked Alejandro if he would be interested in attending, and he said "yes".  So the following day, I went downtown to the ticket office of the Palace of Fine Arts and bought tickets for us.

The prices were extremely reasonable.  Our tickets in the front section of seats cost only 250 pesos... about 14 U.S. dollars.  And the concert is in the gorgeous main concert hall where the Ballet Folklórico performs... the art deco hall with the famous Tiffany glass stage curtain.

The concert is on Sunday, February 15th, so it will be a part of our Valentine's Day / wedding anniversary celebration.
