More from the Carrillo Gil Museum

Yesterday I showed you some of the works by José Clemente Orozco at the Carrillo Gil Museum.  The museum also has a large collection of art by another one of the big names in 20th century Mexican art... David Alfaro Siqueiros.

Here are some of works by Siqueiros that are on display in the exhibit observing the 50th anniversary of the museum...

Diego Rivera is arguably the most famous of the Mexican muralists.  However, before he became famous for his mural paintings, Rivera spent several years in Europe where he was influenced by the cubist movement.  The museum has a number of his cubist paintings, which are so different from the realistic style that we know from his later work.
