The "Alebrijes" Are Ready for Their Close-Up

I wrote about the Alebrije Parade which was held last Saturday.  The parade is great fun, but it is difficult to truly appreciate all the work that goes into creating these fantastical creatures.  After the parade the figures are placed on display along the Paseo de la Reforma for several weeks, and visitors are able to get a closer look at the figures.

On Sunday we went to the boulevard to look at the "alebrijes".  In truth, it was not the best day to do this.  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and it was the first day that figures were on display.  It seemed as if half the city was out on the Paseo de la Reforma.

Of course everyone was trying to pose in front of the "alebrijes" for photos or selfies.  In spite of the crowds, I was able to get some good close-ups of the papier mache figures.
Here are a few of my photos...

    1. The "alebrijes" will still be on display when you are here, but I have my doubts as to how good they will look. Last night we had a couple hours of torrential rain.
