Still Fuming

At the beginning of this month, I posted some more pictures of the volcano Popocatépetl which had been continually expelling clouds of volcanic ash since at least July 27th.  My former student Meredith asked if it was usual for the volcano to be erupting for such a long period of time.  My friend Alejandro answered that no, it was not normal.  Fortunately in his neighborhood of Mexico City no ash has fallen.

This morning I looked at the webcams again, and "Popo" continues to fume.  As of yesterday there was still a volcanic ash advisory, although I do not know if Mexico City was included in that advisory.
