Continuing from the previous post...
Alejandro and I crossed the Paseo de la Reforma to see the rest of the "alebrijes" on the other side of the street.
These photos are of just a few of them...
So many of the "alebrijes" were of such high quality that it was difficult to pick a favorite, but then I saw one which I think deserves to win first place in the contest. It is, however, so complex that in the photos it looks like a crazy jumble. But perhaps you will get some idea of how intricate it is.
The ornate tail curves all the way around one side of the body.
Within the open ribcage there are even more creatures.
By this time it was late afternoon, and it was time for us to decide where we were going to eat.
