When was I walking through Chapultepec Park on Thursday, I noticed that it was quite busy for a weekday. That is probably because the kids are on summer vacation. And with the crowds the vendors were out in full force. Their stalls line the walkway, and they are selling junk food and junky souvenirs. Nevertheless they add to the atmosphere and color of a day in the park. They are fun to look at even if I would be unlikely to buy anything.
Cotton candy and popcorn
All sorts of Mexican snacks
There are lots of booths where you can get your face painted.
Caricature artist
Loads of "lucha libre" (Mexican wrestling) masks
I wonder who buys the hideously colored wigs.
"Tlayudas" are Oaxaca's answer to the pizza... large tortillas covered with a variety of toppings.
