Ecological Alejandro

When I arrived at Alejandro's home, he was eager to take me up to the "azotea"... the flat roof which is typical of Mexican houses... to show me their latest purchase.

They now have a solar water heater.  The solar panel, to the left heats the water which is stored in the thermal tank to the right.  I have taken a couple of showers at the house, and the water has been a nice temperature... very warm without being scalding hot.  The money that they will save on propane gas in a year or two should pay for their expenditure.
