Countdown to Mexico

Let's get off the topic of politics, and go back to the intended topic of this blog... TRAVEL!  In three days I will leave once again for Mexico City.

I will be there for a little over three weeks, and I have rented the same apartment where I have stayed on the past several trips.  My friend Alejandro has already planned some activities for us.  On one weekend will go to the town of Salvatierra in the state of Guanajuato to attend a family event there.  He has also talked about going to the new light and sound show at the ruins of Teotihuacan to the north of Mexico City.  Fellow blogger Barbara, the author of "Babsblog" is planning to spend a few days in the city while I am there, so I am looking forward to seeing her once again.

You would think that with all the travel that I do, getting ready for a trip would be no big deal.  However, I still write up a lengthy checklist of all the things that I need do before I leave.  In addition to the trip-related items, there is always a list of things to be done around the house.  The biggest chore was to clear out the flower gardens.  That was checked off a few days ago when I chopped down the last perennials that were still blooming.  The only major item left on the list is to clean the house for my house sitter.

The weather here in Ohio has been unseasonably warm this autumn, but in the last few days the temperatures have been more typically chilly, and it has been cloudy and rainy.  I am keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine and pleasant 70 degree temperatures in Mexico!

  1. Bring some warm clothes - it has stayed in the 60's here in SMA for a few days with clouds - bah humbug and Mexico City is higher, I think, then Mexico City.........I'm looking at the 7th, 8th and 9th in DF. What do you think? I also hope to see Christina Potter while I'm there, although I have not contacted her as yet.

    1. Yes, I will have a sweater, a jacket, a hoodie, and several long sleeve shirts with me... as well as a sweat shirt and sweat pants for when the apartment is chilly.
      See you soon!
