I took a photo of the front page of this newspaper at a newsstand.
The headline says, "From droughts to floods: the Two Big Problems."
It goes on to say, "In the past weeks Mexico has passed from facing severe droughts and lack of water to suffering from floods in diverse regions of the national territory. Problems which have been aggravated by lack of infrastructure and maintenance of the drainage systems."
I have not seen any major flooding here in Mexico City recently. However, I know that heavy rains can turn many of the streets into waterways. I remember one time, several years ago, when Alejandro had to go back to the family's house late at night after heavy rains. It took us hours to find a route that was not under water.
As I write this, it is typical weather for a late afternoon in the rainy season. It's raining, and the rain is supposed to continue until 9 P.M.
