Housewares and Meatballs

Last weekend Alejandro and I made a return trip to the enormous Ikea store in Mexico City.  It takes a couple of hours just to go through the entire place.  We bought a number of small items for the apartment.  We picked out a large coconut fiber doormat to place at the front door.  (We had purchased one earlier at Ikea, but we decided it was too small.  We have since put that one inside the apartment.)  We also bought a couple of new bathmats, and a couple of bathroom accessories sets (soap dispenser, soap dish and toothbrush holder).  We were looking at office chairs since the one at my desk was broken.  We saw some possibilities, but we didn't buy one at this time. (I will continue to use a folding chair for the time being.)

After going through the store, it was time to eat.  On the top floor there is a cafeteria.  Since Ikea is a Swedish chain, all of their store restaurants worldwide feature Swedish meatballs, and that is what we selected.

I don't think I had ever had Swedish meatballs before.  I really didn't find them to be anything special.  However, the cilantro soup was very good as was the almond pastry.  We left the store with a full belly, and a shopping bag full of purchases.
