Readers of this blog may recall that when I am at Alejandro's home, I will occasionally climb up to the flat roof of the house to see what I can see from up there. Usually, I will go up there early in the morning to see if the two volcanoes Popocátepetl and Iztaccíhautl (known as "Popo" and "Izta") are visible.
On Friday, around 7:00 A.M., I went up there again. "Popo" (at the far right of the photo) was mostly obscured in haze, but the silhouette of "Itza", the Sleeping Lady, was clearly visible as the sky brightened just before dawn.
The nearer mountains were set against a colorful, pre-dawn sky.
Breathtakingly beautiful!
