Yesterday I was invited to the home of a friend and former colleague for dinner. I wanted to bring something, so I made a recipe for fruit salad which Alejandro gave me. The recipe comes from his Aunt Araceli.
The salad contains apples, seedless grapes, pineapple chunks and chopped pecans.
The dressing is made with sour cream, plain yogurt, and sweetened condensed milk. (No, this is not a low-calorie salad!)
Typical of many Mexican recipes, there are no quantities given for the ingredients. You just throw things together. Cut the apples into chunks, slice the grapes in half, mix in the pineapple chunks and pecans. Combine the dressing ingredients until you get a pleasing taste. And there you have it... a tasty fruit salad from the kitchen of Aunt Araceli.
