The Lunar Eclipse
The prospect of seeing the lunar eclipse here in Mexico City did not seem good. Monday afternoon clouds moved in and in the early evening there was a strong thunderstorm. However by the early morning hours the sky had cleared out. I was able to take these pictures which did not turn out too badly...
2:15 A.M.
2:20 A.M.
2:23 A.M.
2:36 A.M.
3:03 A.M.
The alarm didn't go off at 2:30, or perhaps I didn't hear it, but it was a blessing that Rodolfo woke up at 3:30 and remembered. We rushed to the garden with Chucho following us, and enjoyed this magnificent view of the skies. And although the sky had been very cloudy and dusty all day, at that time it was remarkably bright. I wished I could have stayed longer, but the air was chilly and my eyes were full of sleep. I went to bed with a big smile for the gift of that vision.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was quite an extraordinary sight, I'm glad you had a chance to see it. Here in Mexico City, we were also lucky to have such a good view, since it was cloudy yesterday evening, and it's mostly cloudy again today.
