Aaaahhh... We're not in Ohio any more

Today has been spent running mundane errands... going to the ATM machine and then running inside to the bank to have them make change for those darn 500 peso notes that the machine always dispenses...  walking to the nearest Superama supermarket and then trudging home with a bag full of groceries... walking to the Plaza Insurgentes mall to find a birthday present for Alejandro.  But it was such a delight to run these errands on a sunny day without having to wear a jacket.

A cold front supposedly came through yesterday, and it was cool this morning.  Most of the locals were wearing heavy jackets, but I left the apartment wearing a T-shirt.  I admit that I was a little chilly at first, but the sun soon warmed things up, and today's high of 75 degrees Fahrenheit was absolutely perfect!

Having come from Ohio where the crocuses have just started to bloom, it was nice to see flowers!

Bougainvillea seems to bloom all year long.

I don't know what kind of flower this is, but there were a bunch of them starting to bloom in Parque España and Parque México.

I missed the height of the "jacaranda" season.  These flowering trees which are abundant throughout the city, produce masses of lavender blooms in early spring.  Even though they are already past their peak, I found a number of trees that were still blossoming.
