As I said in my last post, there is more to Parque Lincoln in Mexico City's Polanco neighborhood than I had expected. At one end of the park there is a clock tower.
Inside the tower there is gallery space in which free art exhibits are held. At this time there was an exhibit by a painter by the name of Guy-Pierre Tur.
Tur is a French artist who was born in Algeria and who has lived in Mexico since 1982. His primary career is as a psychotherapist. His art work is heavily influenced by mandalas, the designs, usually circular, used in Eastern religions as an aid to meditation and spiritual guidance.
I am not a fan of a lot of contemporary art, and I do not pretend to understand Tur's paintings. However, I appreciate his artistic talent and find his work pleasing to the eye.
