Some of the newspapers down here are reporting that Mexico's gross national product declined by .1% in 2019... the first decline in ten years. Business analysts say that President López Obrador's policies have discouraged foreign investment.
López Obrador commented that it doesn't matter much. He said that there might not be growth, but that there is development and well-being. Huh? The Mexican President may or may not be to blame if there is a recession coming. After all, we are overdue for an economic downturn. But from his response it seems as if he is sticking his head in the sand, or is unwilling to admit that anything could go wrong under his Presidency.
