It's time to turn the page to February. The calendar that I made for 2025 features Mexican archaeological sites. This month's photo is of the arch of Kabah.
Kabah, located in the state of Yucatán, was a Mayan city which reached its height in the 9th century. In the forest, apart from the other ruins, is this impressive arch which served as a ceremonial entrance to the city. The Mayas never developed the true arch. Instead they used the "false" or corbelled arch in their constructions.
