Nature's April Fool's Day Joke

The month of March is over, and it was the most pleasant March in my memory.  Usually we can expect gray skies, cold rain, and definitely a few days of snow.  This year, although there were a couple days of chilly temperatures, as far as I can remember, there was not a bit of snow.  There was abundant sunshine, mild temperatures, and even some days where we could go out in shirt sleeves.  It was definitely an uncharacteristic March.

But from experience, we should have known that winter was not done with us yet.  This is what I woke up to on April Fool's Day.

Snow in April is not at all unusual here.  But the good thing about these late snowfalls, is that they do not last long.  Tomorrow's high temperature will only be 40 F, but, combined with the expected sunshine, I expect that our April Fool's Day joke will have all melted away.  And by next Tuesday, the day before my departure for Mexico, the thermometer will get up to 73 F.
